Searching Tips to find People, Cars, and Car Shows

To Find People and cars

In order to find people and cars use the search bar that shows up on every page in the upper right hand corner. The best methods to find someone or their car is to use any combination of the searches below:

  1. License Plate: You don't have type in the exact license plate for the person's car. You can type in part of it if you only remember part of the person's license plate.  
  2. Car Description: The description includes things like car color, car make, or car model. Again you don't have to type an exact description like "2002 Red Ford Mustang", but you can if you want to. Similar to the license plate search method, you can type in part of the car description if you only remember part of it.
  3. Display Name: This is not the best way to search because user's have the ability to change their display names if they want. Remember, the display name is totally different than your user name that is used to login.

If the checkbox called "Show Car Photos" is checked, then car photos will be shown in your search results. If you leave the checkbox "Show Car Photos" unchecked the search results will show the person photos in your search results.

*The order of the three search methods for people and cars ranks from the best search method to the least effective search method. So searching by a person's license plate is the best search method when looking for a person or car.

To Find Car Shows

In order to find cars shows click on the "Search Shows" hyperlink located in two places; horizontal and vertical navigation menu. The best methods to find a car show is to use the any combination of the searches below:

  1. Car Show Name: You don't have type in the full car show name. You can type in part of it if you only remember part of the car show's name.
  2. Car Show Description: The car show description can include anything that you think describes the type of activities that take place during the car show. It could be such things as the type of cars being displayed or if there are any musical groups or artists performing during the car show. It's totally up to on how you want to search the car show description.
